Our colours

The Telenet Design colour system uses an organized approach to applying colour to your UI. In this system, a primary, secondary, tertiary and functional colour are typically selected to represent your brand. 

Pick your colour

Use colours to emphasize, add value, guide the user, ... not just because you can.

Keep visual and functional consistency of the same elements across the interface and among pages = use the same colour for the same element.


Yellow, lemon, white and brown are our main colours and define the Telenet look. In everything we communicate, at least one of these colours occurs. 


Since Telenet is a yellow brand, we will use yellow as the guiding colour for our main interactions in pages and flows. E.g. our main CTA.

  • States of selectable cards & containers in flows and forms (hover state of 1px yellow border and an active state of 2px yellow border)

Our secondary colours can be used to emphasize elements or groups of elements. This in order to create importance, hierarchy or guide the user.


For digital materials, the colour codes were adjusted to meet the WCAG standards. It ensures sufficient contrast to guarantee visibility and readability.

  • Highlights H1 on white or lemon (coming soon)

Tertiary colours are rarely used in digital applications. Only occasionally, as a supporting colour detail in combination with images.

In this example, we chose the tertiary colours because they were close to Junior Bake Off’s brand identity.

We primarily use #F7F6F6 as a background colour on our website to visually group items that belong together.

Lemon background

Sporadically use lemon to group items. Try to maximise to 1 lemon group. 


A lemon background calls for more attention on that specific group of elements. It carries more importance, brings more clarity and guides the user.

Secondary background colours

Always use a light basis for the website to begin with. Use our colours as a sporadic accent. But keep it clean and fresh. 


As a rule: Select 1 secondary colour per page as complement to the primary colours, unless the content asks for more colours. 


Don't use too many colours on a page. Trust your sense of design!



Section backgrounds

A section is a basic building block that gives structure to a page. It is a full width horizontal container that can contain different elements like titles, text, images, tables, ...


If we want to emphasize certain blocks on a page, we can set a background colour on a section.

A shout is a block that emphasizes one small part in a page. It does not necessarily contain a lot of elements, mostly even just a title, but it stands out and calls for attention.


We can use our secondary colours for this as well.


Valid font colours here are dark brown for text and lemon for highlights.
