Upload speed fixed internet

The upload speed of your internet determines how many files you can send or upload over the internet and how fast you can do so. This speed is always expressed in Mbps.

Which activities influence your upload speed?

  • Sending messages, e-mails (with heavy attachments), photos and videos
  • Posting photos and videos on social media like Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and TikTok
  • Live streaming via social media like Facebook, Instagram or Twitch
  • Online (multiplayer) gaming
  • Have video calls via Whatsapp, Facetime, Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • Uploading photos, videos and other multimedia files to the cloud

Our advice

The more you upload at the same time, or the heavier the files (especially videos, large images and bulky documents) that you upload, the more upload speed you need.

Are you uploading many (heavy) files?

Then choose All-internet (up to 20 Mbps*)

Are you uploading few (heavy) files?

Then choose Easy internet (up to 10 Mbps*)

These are internet speeds under ideal circumstances. Wondering how you can optimise your connection? Be sure to read our tips.

What if you do not have the ideal upload speed?

No worries, you can easily switch from your current to another Telenet subscription at no extra cost.

Good to know: certain (external) factors can influence your upload speed. You can improve your home network by moving your modem. It is best not to place your modem behind heavy objects (behind or in a cupboard, for example) and you better take account of disturbance sources such as electrical (household) appliances. If you still experience network problems, you can rent a free wifi booster. You can request one yourself via the MyTelenet app or on the initiative of a Telenet technician.
