Download speed fixed internet

The download speed of your internet at home determines how much you can simultaneously surf smoothly, play games, make video calls, ... This speed is expressed in Mbps or Gbps and 1 Gbps is 1000 Mbps.

Our advice

A higher internet speed is needed for gaming or streaming (in ultra high definition or Ultra HD). So do you have gamers at home or do you watch videos in high quality on Youtube, Netflix,... (streaming)? Then it is best to choose a higher speed.

Other activities such as surfing, video calling or streaming music are less decisive for your required download speed.

Intensive streaming in Ultra HD or gaming

Choose All-internet (up to 300 Mbps*)

Not intensive streaming in Ultra HD or gaming

Choose Easy internet (up to 100 Mbps*)

These are internet speeds under ideal circumstances. Wondering how you can optimise your connection? Be sure to read our tips.

What if you have not chosen the right internet speed?

Don't worry, you can easily switch from your current to a different Telenet subscription at no extra cost.

Good to know: certain (external) factors can influence your download speed. You can improve your home network by moving your modem. It is best not to place your modem behind heavy objects (behind or in a cupboard, for example) and you should also take account of interference sources such as electrical (household) appliances. If you still experience network problems, you can rent a free wifi booster. You can request one yourself via the MyTelenet app or on the initiative of a Telenet technician.
